Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data WattIQ (operated by SCC Tech Studio) ("we") collects through WattIQ, why, and what rights you have. We keep it short and plain. We do not sell your data and we do not run ads.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and a provider ID if you sign in with Google. If you use a password, it is stored hashed by our authentication provider — we never see it.
- Energy data you upload. The CSV files you provide (timestamps, consumption, and where present solar/import/export) and the reports and assumptions we compute from them.
- Your consent choice. Whether you opted in to anonymized benchmarking, and when.
- Technical essentials. Session/authentication cookies and a small cookie remembering your language. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use your data only to provide the service: to sign you in, to parse your files and calculate and store your reports, and to let you download them. If — and only if — you opt in, we may include your data in anonymized, aggregated benchmarks at city or county level. We never publish your address or anything that identifies your individual household.
Legal bases (GDPR)
We process your account and energy data to perform the service you requested (contract). Anonymized benchmarking happens only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We rely on our legitimate interest to keep the service secure and working.
Who processes your data
- Supabase. Authentication, database and file storage, hosted in the European Union.
- Vercel. Application hosting and delivery.
- Google. Only if you choose to sign in with Google — it confirms your identity and email to us. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that step.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, uploads and reports until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. You can delete any saved report yourself at any time, and saved reports are also removed automatically after 12 months. Withdrawing benchmarking consent stops any future use of your data for benchmarks.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us (below). You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in Romania, the ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
